Managing Director
Ira serves both MeetingMetricsSM and its parent company, GuideStar Research, in New York City as Managing Director. He leads a staff of experienced research analysts and consultants, predominantly Ph.D. level research professionals.
Ira is a trusted advisor to the senior leadership of both firms’ clients. He pioneered meeting results measurement and meeting productivity using pre- and post-event surveys and measures that he developed in the early 1980's when he originated the term "Return On Event (ROE)". This process is the methodological foundation on which the MeetingMetrics online service is built. Ira designed and oversaw the development of this unique online meeting results measurement system, winner of the 2008 EIBTM Technology Watch Award.
Ira has extensive experience in the meeting industry beyond measurement. He was chairman of Creative Establishment, Inc. for 17 years, a leading national corporate communications agency. CE specialized in creating premier meeting and event programs for Fortune 500 companies.
As a writer and creative director, Kerns has designed and scripted literally hundreds of executive meeting presentations and audio visual scripts and was one of the founders of MPI and director and past president of the Chicago Audio/Visual Producers Association.
